Bio: Jimmy was born and raised in Baton Rouge, La. His mother got him his first guitar for Christmas when he was 11 years old. He took 4 lessons and did the rest on his own. He starting playing in his first band at age 13 and played in that band all through high school. In the early 70's, his brother Buddy Roy asked him to play bass for the band he was in at the time, Sark & Company. He played with them for 2 years, then Buddy and Jimmy started their own band. They played at the Admiral Benbow for 4 years and at Cooley's for 4 years. Buddy Roy then opened his own club where they played for 2 years. Buddy and Jimmy played together for 30 years until Buddy passed away in 2001. Jimmy and Steve started playing together in 1991 forming the band Jimmy, Steve & Company. Jimmy has had the pleasure of playing on the side of Johnny and Lucas Spinosa, John Lewis, Robert Hubbard, Dale King, Frankie Lyons, Judy Peavey, Floyd Brown, Michael Noto, Jerry Eiermann, Ralph Walker, Boo Pourciau, Mason McClain, Grace Broussard and many others. He also plays, on occasion, with the Southern Boogie Band and the Holiday Band. He formed the Jimmy Romano Band in 2002.
